Buying Cross-Brand Isn't Always the Problem You Think
Contractors sometimes assume that switching proportioner brands means starting an entirely new parts inventory from scratch, but a fair amount of wear-part compatibility exists across brands at the hose fitting and connector level, even where mix chambers and gun tips remain brand-specific. When you're deciding between brands for a new rig purchase, ask us about parts availability and typical lead times for that specific model — not just the upfront equipment price — since ongoing parts access is what actually determines your rig's real cost of ownership over its working life.
If you're already running a mixed fleet — a Graco rig and an older PMC unit, for example — we can help you consolidate your standing parts inventory around the components that see the highest failure rate on each, rather than stocking a full redundant kit for every brand you own.
How We Choose Which Brands to Carry
We don't try to stock every proportioner and gun brand on the market — a narrower lineup of proven, widely-serviced equipment lets us actually keep deep parts inventory on hand rather than spreading thin across dozens of brands we'd have to special-order for every request. Graco, PMC/Gusmer, and Titan cover the overwhelming majority of the output ranges and job types our contractor base runs, from a first slide-in unit up through commercial hydraulic rigs.
If you're running equipment from a brand not listed here, reach out anyway — we carry parts and accessories for a broader range than what's featured on this page, and can often source or special-order less common equipment on request even when we don't stock it as a standard line item.
Electric vs. Hydraulic Proportioners, Regardless of Brand
Within any brand's lineup, the electric-vs-hydraulic decision matters more for most contractors than the brand choice itself. Electric proportioners run quieter, cost less to purchase and maintain, and cover the output range most residential and light-commercial crews actually need. Hydraulic units trade that simplicity for sustained high-output capacity — the right call once you're regularly running large commercial jobs where an electric unit would be working at or past its rated ceiling for hours at a stretch.
This decision applies the same way whether you land on Graco, PMC/Gusmer, or another brand — figure out which output class your job mix actually calls for first, then compare specific models within that class rather than starting from a brand preference and working backward.
Buying a Used Rig on One of These Brands
The used equipment market for both Graco and PMC/Gusmer proportioners is active enough that a well-maintained used rig is a realistic option for a budget-conscious first purchase, not just new or our own inspected-refurbished inventory. If you're shopping a used unit from another source, ask for maintenance records and a pump ratio test before committing — the same inspection standard we hold our own refurbished rigs to is worth insisting on from any private seller.
Parts availability is where brand choice matters most for a used purchase — an older Graco or PMC/Gusmer unit still in wide circulation is far easier to keep in service than a discontinued or less common platform, even if the used purchase price looks attractive up front.
Brands FAQs
Which brand of proportioner is best for a new contractor?+
There isn't a universal answer — it depends on your typical job size, budget, and parts availability in your region. Reach out with your job mix and we can recommend a starting configuration.
Do you carry parts for brands not listed on this page?+
In many cases, yes. Contact us with your specific equipment make and model and we'll confirm parts availability.
Is there a price difference between Graco and PMC/Gusmer equipment?+
Pricing varies by specific model and configuration rather than a flat brand upcharge. Request contractor pricing for a direct comparison on the models you're considering.
Can I get financing on any brand of rig?+
Financing is generally available across the brands we carry, though specific terms may vary by equipment age, condition, and configuration.
